Coming up in late May, is the Scholarship Award Night on May 19th.This night is set up for all the students receiving local scholarships out of the approximate 770 scholarship applications turned in during the 2014-2015 school year.

According to Jeralynn Mire, post-secondary adviser, “the students did a great job turning in their applications this year which makes it difficult for the organizations to decide.”

After looking over the files, it was recognized that this years senior class turned in fewer applications than those last year, but they had about fifty more students in their senior class.

“Most of the scholarships turned in were those of strong quality, however, there was a few students who didn’t follow all the instructions correctly when applying,” states Mire. “The committees will have a hard time deciding between all of the applications provided, and wish they had more money to give out,” announces Mire.
