This is probably happening because one or both of you are overthinking it. So stop. Play some inspiring music (maybe Never from Footloose) and just text him. If conversation seems forced, try talking about subjects that you have in common like a shared class, or send him a corny joke (maybe about corn, maybe not). Sending pictures of cute dogs or tagging him in funny memes works too. When you decide that real life interaction is appropriate, you could try inviting him to hang out with other friends so it isn’t awkward. No matter what though, you are a wonderful human being, and a boy’s attention or lack thereof does not change your worth.
