THEN AND NOW

Previous Cedar Post staff members in high school versus now

There are approximately 30 staff members ranging from teachers to custodians that graduated from Sandpoint High and are now working here. Amanda Skinner and Abigail Heigis are two of those staff members.

One of the most memorable memories for most graduates is prom, both of these staff members went to their senior prom.

“I went with Tyler Gordon to prom, it was really fun. It was held at schweitzer in one of the event halls. We had a really good music, with tons of balloons and a very pretty view and an amazing dance floor to go along with it all,” Heigis said.

Heigis class of 2011 has been working at Sandpoint High for three years as a parapro working with the life skills students. Although Heigis never pictured herself coming back to work here, she is happy to be back in her home town.

“I went with my now husband Ryan Skinner. It was a blast, the music was great and most students were dancing and having a good time. The decorations and atmosphere were both very memorable. There were chandeliers, red roses and white lights. The theme was “A Touch of Class” The event was held in a big white tent in the P92 field. ” Skinner said.

Skinner class of 2006, has been working here for four years working on her fifth, she works as the Counseling Office/Records Coordinator. Similar to Heigis, Skinner never imagined herself back, she enjoys working with the staff. Skinner especially enjoys being able to have the holidays and summers off to spend with her family.
