WINTER WEATHER PREDICTIONS

Weather predictions for 2016 after last year’s mild winter.

Locals are wondering if the up and coming season has more or less in store. Many debate buying ski passes this winter, in fear that the lack of snow will be comparable to last winter’s season.

Rumors of La Nina switching from the east coast to the west coast are true, only the Pacific Northwest is not going to be seeing its effects. Only the more southern states such as Nevada and Utah are going to see significantly more mountain snow.

Coastal states, such as California, are expected to have a wetter season. The Midwest is expected to have above average temperatures and significantly less snowfall.

Oregon, Washington, and Idaho are expected to be warmer and dryer. For North Idaho, overall snowfall with most likely be below average. This effect will escalate the more eastern one goes.

Overall, the predictions for winter are calling for another light winter season for Idaho and Washington. Skiers and snowboards may be disappointed yet again as the weather has proven to be very unpredictable.2015-16-Winter-Forecast
