ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: ALANA SEIFERT
Seifert is a junior and is currently taking AP art
Q: Who is your favorite artist and why?
Alana: Van Gogh because of his ability to create sophisticated and abstract pieces.
Q: How do you get inspired to create such beautiful pieces of art?
Alana: Looking off my peers artwork and getting ideas and inspiration from them.
Q: Do you have plans to take your artwork to the next level?
Alana: I’ve considered minoring in art in college. I’ve been looking into Amherst a lot. I like their idea that you don’t have to chose your major until your junior year so you have time to explore what you like.
Q: What is your favorite piece of artwork you have done?
Alana: The piece that I submitted to a University of Idaho competition which was focusing on science. It played with mechanics, it had two faces transforming into mechanical robots.
Q: What are your thoughts on people who say they can’t do art?
Alana: Just because someone can’t do a specific project or type of art doesn’t mean they won’t excel in a different style or medium. Maybe they need to try other focuses or ideas.
