SEARCHING SANDPOINT’S ART SCENE

Four ways to experience Sandpoint’s art

Because Sandpoint is distant from any large cities or museums it may seem at times devoid of an art scene. Yet upon closer look, this is not so. Through meetings, the Panida, and coffee shops, art lives on. Here are some ways that you can find and experience Sandpoint’s art.

1. Go to the Panida
The Panida Theater offers an idiosyncratic assortment of theatrical entertainment. This includes local productions, film festivals, movies (old and new), and interactive events- there is something for everyone! Grab some popcorn and settle down to watch a unique show.

2. Look for upcoming library events
East Bonner County Library is another essential part of Sandpoint’s arts. It hosts events such as a Native Heritage Series, a Sandpoint Photo Club, and a Teen Writers Club. All of these events are free and are meant to bring people together to celebrate heritage, beauty, and inspiration, and they embrace the unique scenery and experiences that Sandpoint and its citizens have to offer.

3. Go get coffee!
Coffee shops such as Monarch Mountain and Evans Brothers contribute to the art scene by displaying locals’ art on their walls. Monarch Mountain also has live music or poetry readings. So the next time you are craving coffee, go check out the local art talent while you get your drink!

4. Check out The Conversation
The Conversation is a monthly meeting that is intended to help rid the mind of obstacles to creativity through the use of essential oils and discussion with peers.
