The music guide to the past.
With the convolution of new and repetitive songs these days, it can be an interesting to think about what songs will be representative of this era. Truly, the internet has turned the music industry on its head and it’s much easier to find your new favorite song that no one has ever heard before. Artists such as G-Eazy and Justin Bieber are both artists who are famous because of their exposure on the internet. So, now we’ll go back to the age before the “internet artists” and revisit some of the best songs from a time when it took only pure talent and luck to be discovered and also look at the songs representative of the past. Starting at the 1960s we cover the happy, pop sounding era as well as the early rock era. This era birthed groups such as The Beach Boys, The Beatles, and Creedence Clearwater Revival.

In the 1970s era, music changed from the the happy pop sound of the Beatles, to a more punk rock sound of artists like ACDC, The Blue Oyster Cult and Led Zeppelin. It was also known as the disco era , Queen, and the Bee Gees all had their breakthroughs during this point in time.

Then there was the 1980s the era of disco pop and rock. Notable artists from this era are Queen, Michael Jackson, Blondie and Pink Floyd.

And finally, the 90s! The rise of hip hop and punk rock. Another notable rising genre would be the rise of electronic or “techno” music. During this time period, it would not be uncommon to rave to a techno song.
