Girls soccer can’t hold early lead against Lake City

The girls soccer team scored the first goal of the match, but ended up losing 5-3 to Lake City.

The girls soccer team suffered a 5-3 loss to Lake City on their Senior Night on Thursday, Sept. 20.

Playing in a rare night game at Memorial Field, the Bulldogs grabbed the early lead on a stellar penalty kick from outside the 18-yard box by Riley Walkington. Lake City went on to score the next five goals.

Walkington added another goal late in the second half. Freshman Piper Frank scored the Bulldogs’ final goal.

Walkington was joined by Yeo Yarnell, Addi House, Kayla Inman, Jezza Hutto and Mya Darling in being recognized before the game.  Madison Wyman, who died as a freshman, was also honored.
