Monticola editors Madelyn Slaton-Sanford and Violet Plummer were two of three Idahoans to win the NSPA’s Honor Roll award.

Two yearbook students from the Monticola received national recognition for their grades.

Senior Madelyn Slayton-Sanford and and Violet Plummer were the two Sandpoint High students named to the National Scholastic Press Association’s 2015 Honor Roll of Student Journalists.

Students honored have worked on an NSPA member publication for two or more years and maintained a 3.75 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Publications advisers or journalism teachers nominate the students for the honor.

Nina Forest of Century High School in Pocatello was the other Idaho student to receive the award.
