CIENNA’S CONSPIRACY CORNER: MOON LANDING
Did the United States fake the 1969 moon landing?
There isn’t a single student that has not learned about the infamous 1969 American moon landing in a United States history.
Although I consider myself someone that is faithful in my education, I think it is always important to be skeptical and I believe that the 1969 moon landing was faked.
At the time of the moon landing, the United States was in the midst of a “Space Race” with the Soviet Union, a competition that was a only a smaller portion of the larger Cold War. As a result, it is very likely that the United States was pressured to win the “Space Race” in order to assert themselves as a dominant power.
I believe that the United States, anxious to triumph over the Soviet Union, staged a moon landing on a movie set and projected it to the American public on television.
One of the most compelling pieces of evidence that the moon landing was faked is the American flag. In the footage of the moon landing, the American flag is blowing in the wind, however there is no wind in the vacuum of space.
Also, in the photos and videos of the moon landing, there are no stars in the background. If they had filmed the moon landing, it is possible that they would have used a black background and were unable to mimic the appearance and luminosity of real stars so they avoided the detail altogether.
Another theory of NASA’s motivation for faking the moon landing was that they desired to continue receiving federal funding and needed a successful mission to ensure more money.
Overall, I am not completely convinced on the validity of the moon landing conspiracy theories, but whether you believe it or not, it is important to always remain curious.
