Since the recent farewell of the beloved wrestling coach, Mike Randles, the Sandpoint Wrestling team has been looking for replacements to fill his shoes.

Now, just a few weeks into the beginning of school, the wrestling team has decided on who will lead the award-winning wrestling team and who will assist in this much needed task.

To fill the important head coach position, Sandpoint Welding teacher and former Assistant Wrestling Coach Jake Stark will take the wheel on leading the team. As for Assistant Coaches, Mike Puckett will obtain the leadership position along with newly added coach, Cash Edwards.

“I plan on bringing a level of intensity to the team,”  Stark said.

As for Cash Edwards, Stark noted that “[Edwards] will bring a next level of competition and background knowledge to the team.” Consequently, Edwards in his assistant coaching position should improve the team’s overall composition and provide a promising future for the wrestling team.

This year’s wrestling season is set to start on Nov. 14. It is not until then that we will know how deeply the wrestling team will be affected as a result of the move.
