The varsity volleyball team beat Moscow in four sets on September 22. The game was a big one because it was the first league game against the Bears.

“This game meant a lot and everyone knew that,” junior captain Kayla Neumann said.

The Bulldogs won the first set, but then lost the second. The Moscow home crowd provided many distractions for the Bulldogs. However, the momentum shifted immensely after the Bulldogs’s comeback in the third set after being down 24-21 and resulted in the Bears taking down their sign that said ‘Beat the Bulldogs.’

The Bulldogs rocked the Bears in the final set and won the game.

“I was really excited about how well we communicated and we played really hard even when we we’re down,” senior captain Ali Creighton said.

It was an impressive feat after losing 9 seniors to graduation last year. This win and the Bulldogs’s win against Lakeland increase the chances of districts being played at home. The Bulldogs have high hopes for the rest of the season and plan on continuing the momentum.

“I feel like we need to keep working on covering and blocking and just keeping the momentum up at all times,” Creighton said.
