AP testing will take place May 5 through May 13 for students in AP classes. The tests will take place in either the SHS Auditorium, or the Baptist Church Greenhouse off of Michigan Street. The arrival time for each test varies depending on which tests students are taking.

AP tests are graded on a scale of 1 to 5. Many colleges accept scores of 3 and higher as college credit for certain subjects. The score and credit amount that the test counts for is up to the college’s discretion.

On testing day, students should not bring a cell phone into the testing facility. If a student is seen with a cell phone within the allotted testing time, their scores will be cancelled immediately. Students should bring #2 pencils and pens with blue or black ink. Following protocol is an incredibly important aspect of AP testing.

This year, a scheduling conflict took place between the English Language and Composition Test and the Statistics test for juniors taking both tests. The tests take place on the same day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.

“It’s definitely overwhelming having two huge tests in one day, especially considering they determine whether or not you receive college credit.” said junior Violet Plummer. “Just one AP test takes a lot of brainpower, but two in a row is definitely going to be a challenge. ” Plummer will be one of the few students taking both the English Language and Composition and Statistics test on the same day.
