LPOSD elementary students react when Sandpoint High student Joel Crosby lights a dollar bill on fire at the Science Circuit.

For weeks, students have been researching and creating various science projects and experiments in their Honors Chemistry and Honors Physics classes.

On the day of the Science Circuit, elementary school students from all over the district came to view the projects. Fifth and sixth graders spent the day going from project to project learning about science in a fun and interesting way.

“I think everything was pretty cool, but my favorite part was tasting the projects with food because it was interesting to see happen,” said elementary school student Abby Edwards.

Each student had to choose a topic and build a project around it which included a hands-on portion and a poster board describing what they were doing.

They also had to explain what they were doing and how it worked to each group of kids that came to their table.

“Throughout the year we had small deadlines for the project,” said junior Violet Plummer, “but I really started to work hard on it during the past month.”
