AMAZON’S HQ2
A look into Amazon’s new headquarters
This week Amazon closed up it’s nation-wide public competition to see where the company will build their ‘Second Headquarters’. The project is set to create a second North American HQ that will match the size and operations of its current base in Seattle.
According to the Amazon press release last month, the project would promise prospective cities 5 billion in Amazon investments and over 50,000 new high-paying Amazon jobs. The company also predicts that the city chosen will have further job and economic growth from the influx of new businesses created to meet the demands of the new workers.
Last month, Amazon stated it’s parameters for it’s ideal location. In order to be considered for the new project, the city must have metropolitan communities of over one million that could provide creative location and real estate solutions. In addition, the company is seeking a location with lots of potential local employees, mostly in technology and engineering fields.
The HQ2 campaign is one of many Amazon projects that will provide thousands of new jobs in technology fields, making the company a competitive prospective workplace for students across the country entering the workforce in the coming years.
