The new district standards proved to be very challenging for the student council in finding a location for the homecoming dance. Because the district holds a requirement that the venue has to be in city limits and hold at least 600 students, the student council has decided to hold the homecoming dance in the SHS Commons.

Student Leaders understand that this might not be the most ideal venue, but they are planning to make the best of it. Knowing that the venue is free, student council is planning on spending money on decorations and a DJ.

Before the dance there are many festivities such event as dress-up week, powderpuff, and the homecoming football game. So don’t forget that homecoming week is on Monday, September 22nd, so mark your calendar!
