SENIORS WIN IRONMAN TOURNAMENT

Seniors come back late to beat juniors in final game

Four teams comprised of boys from all high school grade levels participated in the Ironman volleyball tournament on April 26 at Les Rogers court. The event was organized by the SHS Student Council.

 

The seniors dominated the first match of the night, beating the freshman in both sets played. Next, the juniors won their first match against the sophomores, sending them into the final to play the seniors.

While both the seniors and juniors prepared for the championship match next, the sophomores and freshmen played in the consolation match, where sophomores won third place overall for the tournament.

The championship match between the seniors and juniors was back and forth. The juniors won the first set of the match 25-14 and the seniors won the second set with a score of 25-14.

With the deciding set being played to 15, the seniors were down late against the juniors 9-14. The seniors made a big comeback and ended up winning the final set 16-14. The trophy the seniors were awarded was made by the welding class.
