STUDENTS SWEEP BPA STATE
Six BPA participants earned spots at the national competition in May

Thirteen SHS students traveled to Boise State University this weekend to compete in the Business Professionals of America state competition. Led by Alex Gray and Melinda Nieman, the group brought home twelve awards total, sweeping the top three awards in Computer Security, Networking, and PC Servicing. They also brought home one each in Advanced Spreadsheets and Database and a top ten position in Fundamental Spreadsheet Applications.
“It’s very exciting to see students who are passionate about their future,” Gray said. “Students in my program have the professional skills to be successful regardless of their career choice.”

Computer Security

Tina Grimes won second in both the Advanced Spreadsheets and Database competitions and Avery Woodward got in the top ten for Fundamental Spreadsheet Applications.
Students who placed in top five positions earned a spot at the national competition in Orlando, Florida on May 10-14.
