S(NO)W MORE DAYS

What happens now?

Amanda Wikoff
Thursday, Feb. 9 is the sixth snow day in the 2016-17 school year, pushing the district over the budgeted number of days for school cancellation.

As a result the district will either add more minutes to the daily bell schedule or extend the school year by a day to make up for the missed instructional time, District Superintendent Shawn Woodward said in an email.

As of this publishing a final decision has not been made, but Cedar Post will post updates here as more information is available.

UPDATE:

The district is eligible to receive 11 extra “weather emergency” hours, which brings the allowable snow days total to seven before it will be necessary to change schedules and make up time. The district is currently at six snow days.

Updates will continue here if more snow days follow.
