DEAR FAMILIAL FEUDING
Mediocre advice with Hannah and Cienna
Dear Hannah and Cienna,
I recently had a fight with my mom, and we haven’t spoken since. How do I resolve this conflict?
Sincerely,
Familial Feuding
Dear Familial Feuding,
Before you approach your mom, it is essential that you both take the necessary time to cool down. Taking the extra time to calm down will prevent you from saying anything irrational, and it allows you time to collect your thoughts and ponder the situation. You may even realize that the argument was foolish. When you are ready, be the first to wave the white flag. End the silence between your mom by apologizing. Even if you feel that you are not in the wrong, a simple “I’m sorry” is usually enough to make amends. Try to have a mature conversation, and avoid raising your voice or interrupting. It is important that you maintain an open mind and consider the argument from your mom’s point of view. Hopefully, your mom will return the apology, and all will be well.
