GOODBYE RANDLES
Wrestling coach and English teacher Mike Randles accepted a job as vice principal at CDA high school earlier this summer.
After living in Sandpoint for about 23 years and teaching in Sandpoint for 18, Mike Randles hopes to take this experience to help lead Coeur d’Alene High School.
A common first reaction may be “why?”, and even though Randles can list location, retirement, and education quality as factors in his decision, some may still be unsatisfied with that answer.
Randles’ move affects the educational system as well as the wrestling program. “Students at Sandpoint High School are incredibly fortunate,” Randles said, drawing from his experiences teaching in the middle school and high school for so many years.
“There are two quality coaches on staff,” Randles said as far as the wrestling program goes. Students will not know exactly how the program will be affected by the loss of a coach and his award winning son. To get that scoop students will have to attend wrestling matches and judge for themselves.
