PHOTO: SUPERMOON OVER SANDPOINT

On the evening of September 27, a total lunar eclipse occurred. These photos were taken at City Beach in Sandpoint, but the eclipse could be viewed all over North and South America, Europe, and Africa. In addition, the moon is currently at its closest point to Earth in orbit, making it a "super moon." The next time an event like this will be visible (a super blood moon) is in 2033, according to NASA.
