Are you planning on going to the Sadie Hawkins Dance this year? Have you ever thought to yourself, “isn’t it just another homecoming”? Are you confused on what to wear? If your answer was yes to any of these questions, this guide might help you be prepared for the dance this March.
1.) What to Wear
Do: Dress formally, just not as formal as homecoming. Nice jeans and a button-up or a simple dress are great options.
Don’t: Dress like you are going to prom or like you are about to go to the gym.
2.) Showing Up
Do: Come to the dance, even if you don’t have a date. Come with friends.
Don’t: Think you shouldn’t go just because you don’t have a date.
3.) Tickets
Do: Get your tickets early, within the first few days of them being sold. Tickets sell out fast.
Don’t: Wait until the day of the dance to get your tickets.
4.) Have Fun
Do: Have fun and let loose. It might take a bit to get comfortable enough, but school dances are super fun after you get past the nerves.
Don’t: Just stand or sit around. It makes the dance boring and not very memorable.
5.) Breaks
Do: Take breaks, make sure to drink water, take care of yourself.
Don’t: Stay on the dance floor from the second the doors open until the dance is over.
6.) What to Bring
Do: Bring your ticket, phone, money (for soda). Pack light, they may not let you take in a larger bag.
Don’t: Bring all of your makeup, a bottle of perfume or cologne, and a backpack full of everything you might need.
Just remember to have fun at Sadies. Spend time with your friends and maybe even make new ones. Step out of your shell and learn to enjoy it. Sadies is March 7th at the Hive, start planning soon!
