Capping off a stellar regular season, the SHS Lady Bulldogs are now on to the 4A state tournament in Boise for a second consecutive year.

Lead by Madi Schoening’s 28 points and 15 rebounds, as well as Kirscher’s 18 points, Sandpoint easily overpowered the Moscow Bears 58-43 in the district championship game at NIC on Wednesday, February 11. With that victory, Sandpoint finished with an astounding (5-0) record in district play.

“It is exciting to return to state again,” said Schoening. “I feel like all 14 of us are clicking together and we are playing very much as a cohesive team unit.”

Junior guard, Riley Couch added, “I feel like we are playing so well, and we really do have a strong chance to make a big appearance in the tournament this year.”

With Coach Duane Ward and William Love at the helm, combined with a talented roster, the SHS Lady Bulldogs are bound to put on a show in our state’s capitol.

The three day state tournament begins Thursday, February 19th at Timberline High in Boise.
