13. St. Louis Cardinals
The Cardinals finally relinquished their stranglehold on the NL Central division last year, and they missed the playoffs for the first time since 2010. The decline can likely be attributed to their lack of great hitting. While there are no bad hitters, there is also very little elite hitting, with only 4 players on the roster hitting above .270 last year. They lack an ace pitcher, as longtime star Adam Wainwright experienced a steep decline last season. They still have stars in Matt Carpenter and Yadier Molina that will keep them in the playoff race, but it looks like they will need to find a few extra parts if they want to do really well.
