October is in full swing which means Halloween is just around the corner. Finding the perfect pumpkin, picking out the right Halloween costume, and loading up on candy are just some of the activities Fall has to offer.

For those who want more of a thrill, Scarywood is just the place for you. Typically known as Silverwood, this theme park turns its family friendly paths of roller coasters into a terrifying maze of clowns, zombies, and grueling masked creatures.

Nights at Scarywood have been an SHS Fall tradition for years now. Groups of students make their way to the theme park on the weekends to experience the rush of adrenaline and excitement. Clown Town is one of the first attractions you pass through upon entering Scarywood.

Lately, social media has been filled with news about the clown sightings throughout the U.S. Videos are constantly being uploaded to the internet of people frantically running away from clowns chasing them. The authenticity of these videos are definitely questionable but they make for a good laugh.

All this commotion has created talk around our school, memes of clowns on Twitter, and supposed “clown sightings” on Snapchat. Some students have taken such an interest in these sightings that they gathered a group of friends together and went “clown hunting.” Probably not the smartest idea but if you’re really looking for a thrill, have fun and stay safe!

The combination of Scarywood and clown sightings has made for a very interesting and out of the ordinary month of October so far. Fall is definitely many students favorite season, making this Halloween season one for the books.
